THE WINES

Muscadet Coteaux de la Loire wines are revelatory of a singular terroir shaped by the Loire. Matured for at least six months on lees, these wines are a lovely pale gold hue with soft golden highlights. With fruity, mineral notes, they are complex and powerful on the palate with a naturally occurring spritz.

THE TERROIR

Covering only 150 hectares (371 acres) cultivated by thirty-five winegrowers, Muscadet Coteaux de la Loire is the smallest regional appellation of the Nantes wine region. It is situated northeast of Nantes, along the sloping banks of the Loire on hills overlooking the river, a location that accentuates the wines’ breadth and freshness. The grapes grow on the igneous and metamorphic rock—gneiss, granite, mica schist and greenstone—of the Armorican Massif.
